Problem

Luxury cosmetics brands need flawless images, yet audiences reject the "plastic skin" of artificial filters.

Solution

Frequency separation and micro dodge & burn to remove imperfections while preserving the natural texture of the skin.

Result

An invisible retouch that enhances without erasing — the skin looks untouched because true luxury is looking natural.

01 — The Brief

Turning a natural portrait into a commercial-grade editorial shot.

Luxury cosmetics and skincare brands demand striking promotional imagery, but audiences hate the "plastic skin" effect of artificial filters.

The goal was to correct discoloration and apply sophisticated digital makeup, without erasing the model's real grain and features. Technical precision and aesthetic sensibility, in balance.

Zoom &
Texture Preservation

The pores were not erased. The natural grain of the skin is visible and authentic. The retouch works by subtraction, not addition: it removes imperfections without eliminating texture.

Every intervention is surgical and localised. The result is skin that looks like it never went through any retouch, because true luxury is looking natural.

Technical Method

Digital Precision

Three main phases, one single goal: an invisible retouch that enhances without erasing.

01

Frequency Separation

Low Frequencies: smoothing shadows and soft color transitions on cheeks and under the eyes to eliminate the tired look.

High Frequencies: intact preservation of the grain of the skin, the pores and the finest details. Texture is sacred.

02

Micro-Dodge & Burn

Three-dimensional modeling of the face. Selective lightening and darkening of single pixels to highlight the natural highlights: nose, cheekbones, cupid's bow. Light becomes sculpture.

03

Digital Makeup & Hair Clean-up

Definition and filling of the eyebrows. Application of a "glossy" effect and symmetry to the lips. Removal of small stray hairs for a clean, professional outline.

The result is an image that works at a commercial level without betraying the authenticity of the subject. Every technique is non-destructive: the original file stays intact, every change is reversible and layered.

This structured approach shows a potential client that behind the beauty of the final image there is a logical, professional and transparent process. No magic filters, only expertise.

Before and After

The difference is in the details. Two shots, same light, same subject. A world of difference.
